We're not saying DRUGS, DRINKING, AND SMOKING are bad,
...just that a teenager's brain is not developed enough to decide what is good or bad for them.
This is why, for example, the auto insurance rate decrease at the age of 26 because there are fewer accidents for people over the age of 26.

We're just saying wait until you are older,
... and decide for yourself..

- They have a drug-free adult who shows interest in their life - a mentor, a "big brother" or "big sister".
- They provide community service by recycling plastic.
How We Fund the Program
We recycle plastic to make crab traps to rent and sell.
We operate the Sustainable Living Center Oregon, based in Kernville, Oregon, a few miles south of Lincoln City..
The Center provides crab trapping resources and opportunities and will be supporting the “Just Wait Teens” through the work of volunteers.
We accept donations and gifts from the community.
The Just Wait Foundation is a non-profit corporation, certified as an IRS 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, and monitored by the Charitable Services Division of the Oregon Department of Justice.
Its programs are funded by gifts and donations from people who like what we are doing, which are reported to the IRS and the Oregon Department of Justice each year..

How Adults Can Help
There are plenty of opportunities for adult volunteers in the program.
1. Act as a Mentor ("big brother / big sister") to the the teens. 2. Collect the plastic that we use (from your home, your workplace, your church, your neighbors) and bring it to the Siletz moorage at Kernville marina, off 101 at Hwy 129. (and get a deal on a crab trap!). 3. .Help recycle the plastic into products. (Adults volunteering at the Center must be Drug-Free, with no alcohol between 8 am and dark, and smoking only away from the community workspaces..) 4. Become a Sustainability Angel, and help pay for the program for one or more teens. 5. Join the board of directors. |
